We are Christians working together to transform lives through the power of love; their love, God’s love, Love in the Name of Christ
At Love In the Name of Christ, our mission is to connect families in need with local churches and service agencies who can help them. We believe that by serving others and demonstrating the unconditional love that Christ has for us, God will work through us to transform lives in our community.
Love INC is a proven model that networks local churches, church volunteers, and community organizations together to help people in need. Through Love INC, churches and individual Christians are mobilized to work together across denominational lines to provide coordinated help to the poor with practical goods and services. Life skills training and transitional housing programs are set up to address the deeper need of the families that we serve.
We currently work with 43 churches and 104 service agencies in the Newberg area (Carlton, Dayton, Dundee, Lafayette, Newberg, Sherwood, St. Paul, and Yamhill). Since March of 2004 we have helped over 3,000 families in need.
At the heart of Love INC are thousands of church volunteers, motivated by the desire to share God’s love and inspired by Jesus’ example of selfless giving. Love INC enables Christians to pool their time, talent, and treasures to create a network of resources and services that respond to concerns in the community. Together, Love INC partners provide tangible assistance, encouragement, and hope. Their programs meet immediate needs, and in many cases, teach people life-skills so that they can become more self-sufficient and God-reliant.
We are Christian. Everything we think, say, and do is in the name of Christ
We follow Christ’s example of valuing people in need
We value unity in the Body of Christ
We value transformation in the lives of people and communities
We value churches living out the two great commandments to love God and love their neighbor
We value continually maturing in our capacity to meet people’s needs
It seems over the last decade that God is wanting to bring the churches together in new ways
Ican’t think of a better, more practical, day-to-day example of this than Love INC. I’m so grateful that many of the people from our church offer time and service through Love INC. We have people who split and deliver wood so that people aren’t cold in the winter; people spending the night at the women’s shelter building relationships with the women and children there; people serving as teachers and mentors at relational ministry; people who find small ways to make a difference in others’ lives. As a pastor, I’m grateful that Polly Siler and the other volunteers at Love INC make it easy for people from our church to serve. I’m also thankful that when people in need come to our church, we consolidate our efforts as churches to serve them far better than we could on our own at Newberg Friends.
This is a good thing, a God thing in our community-and I’m grateful!”
