Bike Ministry

Posted by:

A month ago a few gentleman approached Love INC saying they wanted to help provide Love INC bikes on a more consistent basis.  We were so thrilled to have someone to take ownership of this ministry, because we knew so many clients were in need of a bike.  As of April, we have received around four bikes in good shape every week!
Clients who had been on the wait-list for ...

God Provides

Love INC completed an intake this week with a woman who was in need of some basic necessities because she was living off a fixed income.  One of her requests was cat food and cat litter.  We informed her that we have not received a donation like this in several months but we would make note of her request.  The very next day a community member donated cat food and a ...

Prayer Answered

Posted by:

We received a call from someone wanting to donate a dryer recently.  The person donating needed someone who could pick it up that day.  One of our volunteers looked at our request list to see if anyone needed a dryer, but there were only requests for a washer and dryer set.  Five minutes later a Love INC client walked in the door asking for nothing else besides a dryer!  She ...

The Golden Rule

Posted by:

You know 3 weeks ago a visually impaired client came into the office to get a bus pass.  This was during the bus pass drought.  I told him we had none.  He expressed his overwhelming emotional need to get the fare as he was needing to catch the bus to go the FISH to garner his much needed food box.  There was no way out of the situation and it was very desperate.  At the same moment I was going ...

Birthday Gift

Posted by:

Volunteers in the Love INC Clearinghouse are always reminded how a little act of kindness can make all the difference for our clients.  The Gift Closet, offered through Church of the Nazarene, recently showed one of our clients how God cares for each one of His creations, and reminded Love INC volunteers the importance of the Gap ministries.

A woman recovering from addictions came to Love INC for basic necessities recently.  During her intake it was discovered that her birthday would ...

Housing Miracle

Posted by:

God’s hand has been at work at Love INC and Relational Ministry, transforming hearts and lives, bringing people together and building up his kingdom. Many lives have been touched and one client in Relational Ministry is no exception. After being on a housing waiting list for several years and living in more temporary housing, one Relational Ministry client was shocked to receive a letter informing her that her housing would be up by the end of the month. For reasons unknown to her, she had been put ...

Home at Last

A woman in the shelter has found a new home!  After making incredible personal strides over the course of a year, while living in the shelter, she has now found a place to call home.  For the last several months she has been looking for an affordable place to live, but was having difficulty.  Last week when she was visiting the Love INC office she received a call from a landlord saying she was accepted to move into an apartment.  Tears of joy filled ...

God will Provide!

At one of our Relational Ministry classes we distributed gas cards and bus passes for those who were on time to class.  A bus pass was given to a woman living in the shelter who had recently given her heart to the Lord. After class she told staff that her monthly bus passes expired that day and she was going to have to buy a bus pass in the morning to get to work.  She knew God would provide, and He ...

Transitions and Gifts

Posted by:

Childhood passages and transitions are sometimes difficult to maneuver. This can be especially hard for children with developmental delays.  Recently, a young person came through our doors who gracefully released her precious childhood treasures: stuffed animals…and blessed us with her rite of passage. Her donation was documented with a photograph, she said “goodbye” to her childhood companions, and “hello” to the next step. We were privileged enough to be witnesses.

Saying Thank You

Posted by:

We don’t expect it, but it’s nice when it comes. Recently, a client handed me a money order with a donation that would have been enough for one of her utility payments.  She said she recently got a settlement and wanted to give back a small portion of what we have given her. A word would have been enough, but the donation was more, it was gratitude for the Love she was given.
