A woman experiencing houselessness came to us for an intake appointment. During the conversation, she began to weep, overwhelmed by her situation. Our dedicated volunteer, sensing her distress, gently asked if she would like prayer. The woman agreed, and right there, our volunteer prayed over her.
While we couldn’t resolve all of her concerns, we were able to offer her love, a listening ear, and understanding. Most importantly, we shared the hope of Jesus through prayer.
This story reminds us that sometimes, the most powerful support we can offer is compassion and faith.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” – 1 John 5:14
